The range shown is an estimate, not a fixed value
The number next to your charge level isn’t a fixed technical spec – it’s a running projection. The car looks at how efficiently you’ve driven recently and applies that consumption to a full battery. Drive gently for a while and the estimate climbs; put your foot down and it drops. Experts often call this display a «guess-o-meter» – a smart estimate rather than a precise gauge.
What pushes the figure up or down
- Driving style: Smooth acceleration and anticipatory braking lower consumption – the estimate rises.
- Speed: City and country roads use less than constant high-speed motorway driving.
- Air conditioning: In Thailand’s heat, cooling draws noticeable power – which lowers the displayed range.
- Temperature & route: Moderate conditions and steady trips are more efficient than stop-and-go or extreme heat.
So why 415 km today?
Most likely you’ve been driving especially efficiently lately – calm, without long motorway stretches, perhaps with less air conditioning. The system remembers that low consumption and projects it onto a full charge. The result: a higher number than usual. Drive faster or with full cooling next, and the display settles back down on its own.
No reason to worry – quite the opposite
A high reading after charging is a good sign: full battery, low recent consumption. Just treat the number as a guide, not a guarantee. For longer trips, plan with a little reserve – especially when motorway, heat or heavy air conditioning come into play.
How to actually get that range on the road
To turn the displayed kilometres into real ones, drive with foresight, keep a steady speed and use regenerative braking. Tyre pressure helps too: correctly inflated, the EX2 rolls more easily. And feel free to run the air conditioning – set one or two degrees warmer and it saves a noticeable amount of power.
